Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 11, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how GPS Camera ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application.

GPS Camera is a camera application that allows users to take photos and record videos with live location information displayed as a location stamp on the camera preview.

By using GPS Camera, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information and Permissions We Use

GPS Camera requests certain Android permissions because they are necessary for the App's core features.

Camera Permission

android.permission.CAMERA

Camera access is used to:

  • Take photographs.
  • Record videos.
  • Display the camera preview.
  • Provide the camera functionality of the App.

GPS Camera does not intentionally use the camera when you are not actively using a camera feature or recording.

Location Information

GPS Camera may request:

android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Location access is used to provide the live location stamp displayed on photos and videos.

Depending on the location information available from your device, the App may use information such as:

  • Latitude
  • Longitude
  • Location accuracy
  • Location-related information displayed in the stamp
Important: GPS Camera uses location information primarily to create the location stamp displayed on your captured media.

GPS Camera does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or phone number to use the basic camera features.

Photos and Videos

GPS Camera allows you to capture and save photos and videos on your device.

Media created using the App may contain:

  • Camera images or video
  • Location information displayed as a stamp
  • Date and time information when enabled
  • Other information you choose to display

Your captured photos and videos are intended to remain under your control on your device.

You are responsible for deciding where you share or upload photos and videos created with GPS Camera.

2. Screen Recording During Video Recording

GPS Camera uses Android's screen-capture functionality during certain video recording operations.

Why is screen recording used?
GPS Camera uses screen capture to record the camera preview together with the live location stamp displayed on the screen. This allows the location information to appear directly in the resulting video.

Instead of separately merging the location stamp into the video after recording, the App may capture the camera preview that is displayed on your device screen.

When screen recording is used:

GPS Camera does not intentionally use screen recording to secretly monitor your device activity.

3. Microphone / Audio Permission

GPS Camera may use:

android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO

Microphone access may be used to record audio as part of a video recording.

The App does not intentionally record microphone audio when you are not using a feature that requires audio recording.

You can manage notification permissions through your Android device settings.

7. Foreground Service

GPS Camera may use Android foreground-service functionality when required for an ongoing operation such as video recording.

The foreground service helps an operation that needs to continue while the App is actively performing the requested task remain visible to you through Android's system interface.

android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE

For screen-capture based video recording, the App may also use:

android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of third-party services before interacting with them.
